Pinnacle "Peak Robotics Team" participates in International Competition

Pinnacle School is fielding a team in the international MoonBots Challenge.  This competition is co-sponsored by LEGO® MINDSTORMS® and Lunar X.

For the MoonBots Challenge, Pinnacle's team has develop a simulated lunar robot with design software. The team also provided written and video essays about their participation in the Challenge and about the importance of exploration of the Moon.

The school's Peak Robotics Team is sponsored by Pinnacle's STEM Educator Sasha Land. Mr. Land's team members are Emma, Hunter, Katcha, Jacob, Annie, and alternate Elizabeth -- all students in the 4-5 classroom at Pinnacle.

You can follow the Team's work, see their robot designs, and watch their 2-minute video at our project home page.

Dr. Lessow commented, "We are very proud of Mr. Land and his team for their participation in this project. Pinnacle is fielding a young and very competitive team. The work required to complete the first phase drew on the students' energies, persistence, interest in space exploration, and knowledge of science and technology.  This project builds on all of the area our STEM program emphasizes -- science, technology, engineering, and math."
