Pinnacle School

The Pinnacle Approach

At Pinnacle School, we understand that every child is different. Our individualized approach to education is focused on helping children who are not finding success in school. Pinnacle specializes in teaching students with information processing differences like dyslexia and dysgraphia. We welcome active, creative, visual learners who will benefit from Pinnacle School’s hands-on learning environment. Pinnacle School takes pride in applying the best combination of techniques, technology, and tailoring for a very positive learning experience.

Teaching at Pinnacle is based on the latest information about the brain and how we learn. Each student builds on his or her individual strengths and interests. Strategies and skills for reading, writing, comprehension, and math are developed in a caring, respectful, and supportive environment. Since no two students are exactly alike, we have a great variety of programs, tools, and approaches to find the best fit.

Pinnacle offers students outstanding access to learning technologies, essential for bright, visual, hands-on learners. Each classroom is now equipped with an interactive SMARTBoard. Computer labs throughout our campus allow students to access more challenging reading materials and to gain tailored practice in reading, writing, comprehension, and math skills. With our new portal, students will even be able to access their desktop tools and applications at home.

Students are taught the way they learn best. Starting with their participation in diagnostic testing before any Pinnacle program, students get a better sense of how they learn. Done in a comfortable and relaxed setting, these assessments provide a better picture of why the child is struggling. The results are used to develop a customized Learning Plan, and set goals for the student. Regular monitoring of progress and communication with families takes place during the year.

Class sizes at Pinnacle are small, with no more than 12 students per classroom. This creates an environment where students have the opportunity to work closely with expert and caring teachers. Literature, course content, and project topics are relevant to students, and push them to develop critical thinking skills, along with strategies to be more successful in reading, writing, math, speech, and social skills.  Students are encouraged to pursue age-appropriate extra-curricular interests, internships, and work experiences to become a more well-rounded individual, and gain valuable life skills.  If your child is struggling, frustrated, and not finding success at school, a Pinnacle education may be the answer.
