Pachyderm Story

The students and staff at Pinnacle created the Pinnacle Pachyderm Mascot. Working with local artist Joe LaMantia, through a grant from the Indiana Arts Commission, students layered sheets of building foam, carved it into the shape, and covered it with a safe and flexible fiberglass paste.  The elephant was finished with a faux bronze painting technique.  The upward reaching trunk is considered to be a sign of good luck.

The students at Pinnacle chose the pachyderm as our mascot because…

Pachyderms are smart.

Pachyderms work well in teams.

Pachydrerms have excellent memories.

Pachyderm means “thick skin”.

Pachyderms are creative.

Pachyderms work hard.
