The Ballad of K.C., or The Dyslexia Song, was written and performed for Pinnacle School by Bloomington songwriter Jeremy Shere.  Chris Sellers provided the animation. It was inspired by the Story of K.C. the Dyslexic Kid, created by Pinnacle's Executive Director, Denise Lessow. 

Dr. Lessow said, "We wanted to have a more compelling and accessible way to highlight some of the thoughts, gifts, and challenges of a child with dyslexia."

"Through the newly created Institute for Dyslexia Awareness and Education (I.D.E.A.) we are hoping to provide more parents, caregivers, and youth-serving professionals with user-friendly information about dyslexia and other learning differences.  There have been great strides in our knowledge of the brain and how we learn in the past ten years, but it takes much longer for this to filter into daily practice."
