Admissions

Families interested in admission to the Pinnacle School may contact the Director, Dr. Denise Lessow, at info@pinnacleschool.org, or by calling the school at (812) 339-8141.  Our full time day school program runs from the beginning of August to the end of May.  (Students will be admitted while the school year is in progress if there is space.)

The Director will meet with the family, including the prospective student, to talk about the student’s academic background, challenges and interests, and to advise the family on the available programs and services that would be the most beneficial and appropriate. We offer a number of education and evaluative screenings. Often, parents bring any evaluations conducted by a school psychologist or other evaluator.

Pinnacle School accepts students in grades K through 12 who have difficulties with reading or writing, students with dyslexia, dysgraphia, or a similar processing difference; students with ADD, ADHD, or Asperger's; and students who will likely benefit from our school environment and curriculum.  Prospective students are encouraged to spend a day in classes and meet the teachers and other students.

Enrollment in all additional programs, including Orton-Gillingham tutoring, Homework Help, and Summer Academy is based on availability.  For more details, including information about fees, please contact the school office.

Non-Discrimination Policy: Pinnacle School does not discriminate against any qualified candidates on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national or ethnic origin, or any other legally protected status.

Tuition, Financial Assistance, and School Choice Vouchers

Pinnacle is a non-profit, independent school.  Because we believe so strongly in the importance of the services we provide, we strive to keep our tuition costs close to or below those of similar schools that offer specialized programs. We work with FACTS, a national service, to help determine eligibility for scholarships, sliding-scale tuition, and school choice vouchers.

Tuition includes instructional fees and basic school supplies.  Additional funds to support the school come from donations.  We offer several payment options to make the program available to as many families as possible.  Families that might need financial assistance are encouraged to speak with the Director about possibilities.  (Parents should consult with their tax advisor about the possible deductibility of specialized education and services as a medical expense.)

Pinnacle School has been approved by the State of Indiana to accept tuition vouchers and offer Student Choice Scholarships. Eligibility is based on household size and annual income. For more information, contact (812) 339-8141.

Scholarship Fund

We welcome contributions designated for the Student Scholarship Fund or to sponsor a particular student.  To established a named scholarship, please contact Dr. Denise Lessow at (812) 339-8141.  Pinnacle School is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit institution and gifts are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Pinnacle School maintains a fund with Sycamore Institute, a state-approved Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO). This can significantly lower the cost of education for a low-income student.

Pinnacle School also relies on donor support for capital improvements and program services.  Please see Gifts to Pinnacle School.  Thank you!
